In this challenging position you will be responsible for encouraging and implementing a strong quality mindset and a positive quality culture on your project. You will lead all the activities related to quality and manage the project quality team.
The Position
In this position you will report to the Project Director, be part of the Project Management Team and responsible for all quality related topics. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all standards, rules and other requirements imposed by Van Oord (e.g. Management System), Certifying Bodies, Clients and other relevant Stakeholders. You will be the focal point for quality to the Project team, Client, Third parties and Subcontractors. You will be responsible for encouraging and implementing a strong quality mindset and a positive quality culture on your project. You will lead all the activities related to quality and manage the project quality team.
Your tasks
- Responsible for all quality related topics for project team, Client and Subcontractors;
- Ensure requirements are known and clear for adequate quality assurance and control;
- Ensure quality awareness in the project team;
- Prepare risk-based forecast of required resources for the project quality team;
- Allocate project quality staff to scope of work (e.g. at Subcontractor) to ensure inspections are performed as per approved ITPs;
- Coordinate project quality team according to project requirements and Van Oord requirements;
- Accountable for right performance of project quality team on all project sites or yards;
- Ensure follow-up of non-conformances;
- Ensure follow-up of punch items;
- Ensure compliance of quality related subcontractor’s documents;
- Ensure review of design, technical queries, etc. (when applicable);
- Ensure improvement activities are implemented;
- Ensure continuous improvements on corporate systems and tools;
- Ensure familiarization of project personnel of relevant VOMS procedures and systems;
- Create a safe work environment for project quality team.
Your responsibilities
- Maintain good relationship with quality counterparts at Client and Subcontractors;
- Set up and chair weekly meetings;
- Assist project team in quality matters, QA and QC related;
- Ensure weekly quality meetings with Subcontractors;
- Prepare project QA documents (PQP, PQCP, NCR Register, etc.);
- Prepare risk-based project ITP;
- Prepare (subcontractor) tender invite and advice procurement team on quality requirements;
- Report (periodically) on quality KPI’s, internally and externally (e.g. welding failure rates, NCR’s, punch, audits);
- Attend risk sessions e.g. HAZID, HAZOP;
- Review of design package (SoW, constructability check, compliance with specs);
- Review (and approval) of Subcontractor documents;
- Set up project audit schedule and conduct subcontractor audits, project driven;
- Ensure subcontractor readiness reviews;
- Coordinate coverage of ITP inspections;
- Coordinate close-out of NCR’s, punch items, etc.
Your Workplace
Within the planning department we work on the development and expansion of knowledge in the fields of planning, risk, systems engineering and information management. Your input is expected from your expertise and you can also develop yourself more broadly at the same time. You will be part of the planning department, which includes around 35 planners. We believe in combining knowledge and expertise and have the ambition to further professionalize our departments! We do this together with highly motivated risk, planning, systems engineering, process and information management professionals who think and act beyond the borders of their own expertise.
Job requirements
Minimum:
- Bachelor (HBO) level;
- 10 years+ working experience (of which preferably 3 in a leading quality position);
- Strong empathy with proactive quality management and “FIRST TIME RIGHT” principle;
- Affinity with welding, coating and NDT processes;
- Safety certificate e.g. VCA VOL;
- Permitted to work in Germany is a requirement just as willingness to travel to several sites in the Germany and Europe;
- Experience in the Offshore Wind Industry is a pré;
- Fluent English;
- Willingness to travel;
- No 9 to 5 mentality.
Preferred:
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and related standards;
- Inspection experience;
