To maintain our leading position and to keep up with the influx of projects in the coming years, we are looking for a Worksmanager/Construction Manager Cable Installation (m/f/d) for our Offshore Wind business unit in Hamburg (DE).

Your tasks

As Worksmanager / Construction Manager Cable Installation you will have the operational co-responsibility for the preparation and execution of infield and/or export cable installation works for offshore wind projects. You will be part of our Offshore Wind Operations department and work in one of our offshore wind offices during the preparation phase and in the field office during project execution.

  • You will ensure that onshore activities and offshore cable laying activities comply with safety procedures;
  • You take care of the detailed preparation of cable laying projects;
  • Establish working methods and associated project specific equipment in collaboration with the operational team and ship management department;
  • Coordinate and support the execution work of the cable installation vessel(s) in close cooperation with the Offshore Construction Manager(s);
  • Coordinate and support execution activities related to the (nearshore) cable installation and offshore installation works, such as laying and trenching, cable pulling, testing and termination, together with the offshore construction manager(s);
  • Ensure that the cable installation operations process meets contractual requirements related to quality standards, in conjunction with the QA/QC Manager;
  • Coordinate operational interfaces with other disciplines within the project;
  • Coordinate project interfaces with the Marine Warranty Surveyor;
  • Provide operational support to subcontractors;
  • Inform and report to the Project Manager/Package Manager on progress, deviations from installation plans, and contractual issues that arise during the project;
  • Ensure cable installation activities remain within budget in conjunction with the Project Manager/Package Manager.

Professional requirements

  • An independent, practical and creative person with technical understanding who can solve problems and has the confidence to make decisions;
  • Motivated Team Leader;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ideally 7 to 10 years of operational experience, mainly on complex projects, including several years in (offshore) cable installation;
  • You should be able to work on a 24/7 project basis;
  • Higher intellectual and professional level;
  • good command of the English language;
  • Willingness to alternate between working abroad on a rotational schedule and also in the office depending on project phase.
